This year’s 2021 Virtual Hawaii STEM Conference was a great success with 560+ attendees from across the state logging in to learn about all things STEM. The STEM conference provided teachers, students, and school administrators the opportunity to participate in professional development sessions on agricultural sciences, astronomy, computer science and programming, creative media design, cybersecurity, film production, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), NOAA resources for the classroom, robotics (in person and remote), space exploration, and more.
Participants walked away with new skills and teachers gained valuable resources for their classrooms. We would especially like to give a shoutout to all our 2021 STEMMY Winners. To see who won, check out Challenges & Hacks — 2021 Hawaii STEM Conference – STEMworks
This summer, the STEM team is excited to be working with 48 STEMworks™ Innovation Summer Interns hosted by 21 companies across the state and 18 STEMworks Maui County Agricultural Interns for a six-week work-based learning experience.
During this time, interns will have an opportunity to apply the skills they have learned in their STEM and Ag classes to benefit their host companies. For more details, checkout
