maui business recovery fund

In partnership with the Principal Foundation, Maui Economic Development Board (MEDB) is offering the Maui Business Recovery Fund. The purpose of the fund is a donation to support small businesses that have been directly impacted by the August 8, 2023 Lahaina and Upcountry wildfires.

Applications will be accepted until the funds are exhausted. Grants will be issued as a single payment of $1,000. At this time, approximately 95 grants can be awarded. Priority consideration will be given to applicants whose physical businesses were within the fire impact zones.

In order to be eligible to apply, business owners must have:

  • a FEMA Disaster Assistance Case Number (https://www.fema.gov/disaster/4724 to apply)
  • An active registration license, dated prior to August 7, 2023, with the Hawaiʻi Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs
  • A Hawaii GET ID

For those businesses selected to receive funding, a brief statement of results must be submitted to MEDB at the end of the grant period. Grant recipients who fail to submit a statement will not be eligible for future funding opportunities that may become available.
