Join us at Maui Tech ‘Ohana on July 8 to hear how AI is providing a better personal experience. Maui-based guest speakers, Dana and Josh Ellis will talk-story about their high-growth AI startup, Abra – the AI Guest Intelligence Platform for Hospitality.
Presented by the Maui Economic Development Board (MEDB) and supported by the County of Maui, Maui Tech ‘Ohana offers a talk-story format and provides an informal networking opportunity open to anyone interested in Maui County’s technology sector.
Dana is the Co-Founder & Chief Hospitality Officer of Abra and a Hotel Manager at Hotel Wailea. A graduate of Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration, Dana will share her experience leading operations teams for some of the world’s leading luxury hotel brands (Four Seasons, Peninsula, and Relais & Chateaux) and the challenges that led her to build Abra. Co-founder and CEO, Josh will share how his diverse career helped him to build skills that prepared him to lead a high-growth AI startup.
You will hear and learn:
- The value and impact of the growing Hawaii tech ecosystem, and how to leverage it
- What AI changes for entrepreneurs, and what stays the same
- Lessons learned from the front lines of building a venture-scale AI company
“What an exciting story of success for a Maui-based start-up where technology meets hospitality,” said Annette Lynch, Program Director with MEDB. “There will be much to learn whether someone is looking to start their own venture or simply to be inspired for what is possible.”
Maui Tech ‘Ohana includes time for networking for small business owners to connect, collaborate and be resources for each other. The event is free to attend with check-in and networking starting at 5:00 pm at MEDB’s Malcolm Center in Kihei; before the presentation begins at 5:30 pm.
Registration is required to secure limited seats and livestream tickets are available for those unable to join in-person. The session is not recorded to encourage everyone to attend live to interact with the speaker and each other.
