Whatever your shopping preference, Maui has you covered. The islands feature four shopping malls and several shopping districts that offer internationally renowned designers and local artisans, specialty shops and an array of dining options.
The Queen Kaahumanu Center is an open-air mall, dining and entertainment complex that features more than 100 shops, from department stores to island-style boutiques. The Maui Mall open-air shopping center is home to over 40 shops and restaurants – including a Whole Foods – as well as a stadium-style 12-plex movie theater. Lahaina Cannery Mall offers over 50 retail shops, casual dining, cultural events and a 24-hour grocery store.
Luxury shoppers will enjoy The Shops at Wailea or Whaler’s Village (Lahaina), which feature high-end boutiques, as well as art galleries and fine dining.

Stroll through the trendy streets of the north shore’s Paia town, where you’ll find local clothing designers and artisans with an international following, boutiques offering antiques, collectibles, home furnishings and accessories, and a tempting assortment of dining options.
Art lovers will feel at home on Lahaina town’s historic Front Street, home to many of Maui’s more than 50 galleries that carry the works of established local artists and masters such as Dali, Erte, Chagall, Rembrandt and Picasso. Every Friday Lahaina hosts Art Night, which offers the chance to chat with artists, view their works and enjoy light refreshments. Front Street also features jewelry, clothing and sundry shops, and some of the area’s most popular award-winning restaurants.
If a day of shopping while at the beach sounds like paradise, the Whalers Village open-air shops at Kaanapali Beach is your spot. More than 90 stores offer goods from diamond earrings and designer bags to bath products and summer dresses. The village also features award-winning beachfront dining.
A former paniolo (cowboy) town, Makawao is now home to trendsetting casual chic boutiques, art galleries, cafes and restaurants.
Wailuku town is an historic neighborhood in the midst of revitalization. Bohemian in feel, it offers an eclectic assortment of antique stores, art galleries, cafes, bookstores and clothing shops. It is also home to the Iao Theater, a former Roaring ’20s movie palace.

Maui offers a variety of farmer’s markets that sell locally grown and produced items. Retail stores also feature local items – look for the Made In Maui label. Locally made products include fine art & crafts, food & beverage items, health & beauty products, print publications, clothing, floral items, mixed media and gift items.
